Abstract

Primary health care services, where family medicine services are provided, have an important place in developing countries due to some features such as access to all individuals under similar conditions, being free, and preventing diseases before they occur. On the other hand, effective and efficient family medicine services will positively contribute to both cost and the health workforce, as it will alleviate the burden on secondary and tertiary care. The most crucial factor for this to occur is patient satisfaction by using effective communication techniques and ensuring that the service received by the patients who receive health services in family medicine is recommended to others. In this context, data were collected from 656 people over 18 who received service from family medicine throughout Ankara. As a result, it was concluded that physician-patient communication in family medicine services contributed positively to the intention to recommend the service.
